SAP’s Accelerated Implementation Program consists of the following five phases. The activities to be carried out in each of these phases will change according to the nature of the implementation:

Phase 1: Project Preparation

  • During this phase of implementation, the team goes through initial planning and preparation of SAP Business One project. This initial planning and preparation consists of obtaining clear understanding about sales process and client from sales team. The implementation team sets up the plan of approach, formulating a detailed project schedule, budget plan, finalize the project organization and initiation of training programs for team members. Generally, the preparation starts by conducting kick off meeting during which the project team and process owners come to know about project charter and objective and then allocated their responsibilities in execution of the project.

Phase 2: Business Blueprint

  • The final outcome of these workshops is Business Blueprint, a detailed documentation that serves as functional and technical guide during the subsequent phases of implementation.

Phase 3: Realization

  • During this phase, SAP Consultants configure all the business processes and technical requirements based on the Business Blueprint prepared in previous phase (Business Blueprint).
  • The system configuration in this phase is done in two steps that are baseline and final configuration. The baseline system configuration reflects organizational structure, all of master data and daily business transactions.
  • The final configuration is done in process oriented cycles. During his phase, it is confirmed that all requirements are being met in SAP system.

Phase 4: Final Preparation

  • During this phase, there is a run of final technical system test to ensure if system is ready for go live. The activities of this phase include the completion of key user and administrator. As a part of final system tests, adjustments are made to resolve all open critical issues if they exist.
  • Also, cut-over activities are completed during this phase.

Phase 5: Go Live and Support

  • The purpose of this phase is to cut over to live production environment and to support and improve the live operations on regular basis. Once production starts up, the system must be checked again and fine-tuned wherever needed to guarantee that all facets of business environment are represented in SAP system.
  • During support phase, the SAP Consultant team starts supporting the management organization. An operational helpdesk is formed to which the users of the SAP system can report their day to day problems.
  • The final step of this phase is handing over system to the organization and then the project is formally closed.
